Fieldgate SFG500提供独立的访问路径，用于对PROFIBUS网络进行访问，其广泛的应用得到各种操作模式支持。
Fieldgate SFG500广泛的应用得到各种操作模式支持，根据所选用得存储卡（Fieldgate Module SFM500），可以确定操作模式。
当不带记忆卡时， Fieldgate SFG500 可作为工厂访问接口，相当于一个以太网网关，带自适应的PROFIBUS主站2级功能，用于支持基于FDT的工厂资产管理系统，如， FieldCare.
带插入式记忆卡时，包含故障原因的设备诊断信息，故障解决方法以及PROFIBUS和HART设备的过程测量值将显示在内置的网络浏览器上。
