Endress+Hauser has once again achieved 78 out of 100 points in the EcoVadis sustainability rating 2026 and has been awarded a Silver medal for this achievement. This confirms the company’s high level of sustainability in an international comparison.
The Swiss specialist in measurement and automation technology ranks among the top six percent of the more than 100,000 companies surveyed worldwide. Endress+Hauser was able to further improve its position in the areas of environment, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The topic of labor and human rights received a lower rating due to minor findings during an occupational safety inspection at the site in Suzhou, China. The reason for this was two cases of improper use of personal protective equipment.
“We take such incidents very seriously. That’s why we reacted quickly and took immediate action on site,” emphasizes CFO Dr Luc Schultheiss, who is responsible for this topic on the Group’s Executive Board. Endress+Hauser specified guidelines for the proper use of personal protective equipment and intensified employee training. Despite positive feedback from the authorities, the two incidents from 2023 continue to affect the EcoVadis rating.
Endress+Hauser pursues ambitious sustainability goals. These include a commitment under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire value chain by 2050. The Group is focusing on systematic improvements, solid documentation and adaptation to regulatory frameworks such as the EU Directive on Sustainability Reporting (CSRD).
In 2025, Endress+Hauser was awarded the German Sustainability Award in the category of measurement and control technology, in part for the company’s contribution to the sustainable transformation of the process industry. “Voluntary ratings such as EcoVadis help us to identify where we can improve,” emphasizes Julia Schempp, Corporate Sustainability Officer of the Group. “Endress+Hauser’s goal is to achieve another Gold medal from EcoVadis.”
