Foam detection with Liquicap FTZ61
In combination with the self-adhesive single-use sensor FZZ61, Liquicap FTZ61 offers a simple solution for detecting all types of foam in nonconductive containers and disposable bags for cell cultures without the risk of contamination. For this purpose, the single-use sensor is simply stuck on the outside of the disposable bag during critical fermentation processes, adjusted to the respective foam and thrown away with the bag after use.
Thanks to Liquicap FTZ61, the dosing of the anti-foaming agent can be controlled, which prevents unwanted foam generation from crossing over or blocking sterile barriers. The device determines the change in capacitance based on how much of the active part of the sensor is covered with foam.
Empty adjustment is usually sufficient for adapting the measurement to the actual process conditions: the foam detector stores the capacitance value of the sensor when there is no foam covering the sensor field. The empty adjustment can be performed easily with the push of a button.

Endress+Hauser also offers different configurations of single-use Raman systems that interface to a variety of bioreactor and flow path scales and brands. Each style utilizes the same high-quality optical components, low background window technology, and patented self-focusing lens for Raman data compatibility across all set ups.
These single-use Raman systems are designed to be used for one or several batches before being replaced, eliminating the need for additional cleaning, sterilization and component validation. This also provides opportunities for reduced material use, costs, cross-contamination risks, and manufacturing times.
