Endress+Hauser ranked third in the “Europe’s Most Innovative Companies 2025” listing and also took first place among companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The ranking is compiled by the business magazine Fortune and statistics provider Statista and recognises the Group’s innovation performance.
The ranking is based on a multi-stage methodology comprising the evaluation categories of product innovation, process innovation and innovation culture. The analysis includes companies headquartered in Europe with at least 250 employees and combines multiple data sources, including evaluations by industry experts, employee surveys and an analysis of patent filings.
Out of 18,000 companies analysed, 300 were included in the ranking. Endress+Hauser’s third-place in the overall ranking reflects the company’s innovation activities, which focus on applications in measurement and automation technology for the control and optimisation of industrial processes. This includes both the development of new products and the enhancement of existing processes.
Endress+Hauser drives innovation at many levels. More than 1,300 employees are involved in the development of new products, working both on enhancing existing products and solutions and on developing new sensor technologies. At the same time, process improvements in production, logistics, IT and administration also contribute to the Group’s success. Endress+Hauser recognises this by promoting a culture of innovation across all areas of the company, supported by recognition and incentives.
In 2025, Endress+Hauser invested 281.4 million euros in research and development, corresponding to 7.0 percent of sales. In the same year, the company filed 294 patent applications and launched 41 new products. Its patent portfolio comprises more than 9,400 active patents and applications. At its annual Innovators’ Meeting, the company also honours all inventors who have been involved in a patent application over the past twelve months.
