The customer requirement
During construction of the A-Nord power line, Hölscher Wasserbau has to move large quantities of groundwater – and strictly adhere to environmental regulations in the process. The German Regulation on the Protection of Surface Waters (OGewV) demands careful treatment and seamless documentation of the water quantities to avoid dried out ground or damage to bodies of water and vegetation. Remote discharge points without power supply make it difficult to use conventional measuring technology.
Our solution
Hölscher Wasserbau installed 34 devices from Endress+Hauser to continuously collect data on extraction, treatment, and reintroduction of groundwater along the project section. Promag W 800 documents every liter for compliance with ecological standards. The battery-powered device operates autonomously for up to 15 years – even under adverse conditions. Mobile access and configuration of the measured values makes it easier to handle on-site and ensures continuous measurements without interruption.
